Cookie Policy
Effective date: May 31, 2026
Last updated: May 31, 2026
Essential cookies (login, language, theme) are always on because the product needs them. Analytics cookies run only if you click “Accept”; you can reject them and the product keeps working fully.
This Cookie Policy explains the cookies used on creatornote.ai, what they do, and how you can control them.
1. What is a cookie?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. Websites use cookies to remember preferences, maintain login state, and analyze usage.
2. Which cookies do we use?
We group cookies into three categories:
- Strictly necessary: Required for the product to work (login, security). Cannot be turned off.
- Functional: Remembers your preferences (language, theme, session hint).
- Analytics: Measures how you use the product anonymously; runs only with your consent.
| Cookie / Storage | Type | Purpose | Duration | Consent? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
accessToken | Strictly necessary | Session authentication (JWT) | 15 minutes | Automatic |
refreshToken | Strictly necessary | Session refresh (HttpOnly, Secure) | 7 days | Automatic |
creatornote_has_session (localStorage) | Functional | Session hint, avoids unnecessary API calls | Until browser clear | Automatic |
creatornote_theme (localStorage) | Functional | Light/dark theme preference | Until browser clear | Automatic |
creatornote_lang (localStorage) | Functional | Language preference | Until browser clear | Automatic |
cn_analytics_consent (localStorage) | Functional | Analytics consent state (granted/denied/unknown) | Until browser clear | Automatic |
_ga, _ga_* | Analytics | Google Analytics 4: page views, anonymous visitor counts | 2 years | Consent-based |
_gid | Analytics | Google Analytics, daily session separation | 24 hours | Consent-based |
3. Third-party cookies
- Google Analytics: Anonymous usage statistics. Collects no personal data; IP is anonymized. Active only with your consent. See Google's cookie policy for details.
- Stripe Checkout: When redirected to the payment page, Stripe may set its own cookies. See Stripe Cookie Policy for details.
4. How do I control cookies?
From the site: Use the "Accept" or "Reject" buttons on the cookie banner. Rejecting prevents Google Analytics from loading. To change your preference anytime, click the “🍪 Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of the page. The banner reopens.
From browser settings: All major browsers offer cookie controls; you can delete all cookies or block specific sites. Official guides: Chrome · Firefox · Safari · Edge. Note: blocking strictly necessary cookies may break the Service (e.g., you cannot log in).
Do Not Track (DNT): We do not separately process your browser's "Do Not Track" signal; it isn't needed, because analytics cookies run only with your explicit consent. Without consent, no tracking is loaded.
5. Changes
This Policy is updated as needed. Material changes are announced via the banner and may require renewal of your existing consent.
